Chase Slater

My name is Chase Slater and I am an ambitious, caring, energetic student at the University of Arizona. I love to meet new people and try new things, which is part of the reason I travel so much. I have been to approximately 25 U.S. states and many parts of the world, including Czech Republic, Canada, Turkey, Mexico, Poland, and Hungary. I spent this past year in Israel on a college leadership program. During the year I studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and did an array of volunteer work in a small city in the south, where I found and rescued my adorable dog, Zahava. Like Zahava, I am playful and adventurous and I try not to take life too seriously. I like to have fun and make the best of every situation, but when something is important to me I buckle down devote myself fully to it. I set high goals for myself I work towards them with strong determination. Speaking of goals, I love to play soccer- on the field and on FIFA ‘09. I also enjoy bowling, watching movies, and ending a long night’s early morning at Bobo’s. Thank you for this great opportunity to run for your ASUA senator. See you later, vote for Slater! Go Wildcats!

My Platforms:

1) I am dedicated to making our beautiful campus more energy efficient. If elected, I want to work with the University for more funding and increase the number of on campus “green projects”. I will also work with student groups to expand existing campus environmental projects. With your support, our dream for a beautiful campus can be a reality.

2) I know everyone loves Papa John's and Panda Express, but to tell the truth I would like to see some healthier options for our student body. If elected, I promise to work with UA’s food services to branch out and bring in some healthier choices. Bringing in some new healthier options will be a refreshing addition to our campus diet!

3) My last idea is most prudent of a UA Student Body Senator. If elected, I promise you that I will attend as many club meetings as possible. Further, I will interact with group leaders, and serve as an advocate for groups. This will allow campus clubs to have their voices heard and ensure a fair vote when the senate decides on budget issues. This will help bring new perspectives to ASUA about clubs others may not know enough about.

Thank you for your vote!
