Eduardo Atjian II

Hello my name is Eduardo Atjian II, I am in the race to be YOUR future Senator for the 2009- 2010 school year. I am currently a sophomore double majoring in Public Administration and Education.  My involvement in our community has included my current membership in SOPHOS Sophomore Honorary, the Zona Zoo Crew Media and communications committee, a Blue Chip member and Greek Life member, a former ASUA Freshman Class Council member, and a current mariachi singer and trumpet player.

Here is a brief summary of my main platforms:

1.Online Textbooks

From my experience as a student buying required textbooks for classes, I have had many professors require books that are rarely used or simply not used. I will develop a system that will require professors who use less than 5% of a textbook to post their readings online instead of having students purchase the textbook.

2.CAT Culture

My idea for this is BIG. Culture is part of who we are.  It includes our ethnic heritages that infuses spirit into our Wildcat pride, and creates a shared desire to advance our diverse Wildcat spirit.  It is defined by who we are, what we believe in, and how we conduct ourselves. I will work to promote programs, services, and organizations along with the proposed “Unity center” in order to advance our CAT culture. As your senator, I I  I will continue to be involved and work closely with the University administration to represent ALL the students and promote each of our unique cultures on campus.
