Gabriella Ziccarelli

Hey Wildcats!

My name is Gabriella Ziccarelli. I'm currently a triple major in Communications, Italian, and History, and I would love to be your ASUA Administrative Vice President for the 2009-2010 school year.

I've worked within ASUA as one of ten student body senators this year, and I've also been involved in a variety of organizations on campus including the Italian Club, The Vagina Warriors, and Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Professional Fraternity, among others.

When elected, the three main goals of my term can be summarized by three O’s:

Outreach

As the Administrative Vice President, I will oversee the programs and services that are utilized by you the students, as well as your Tucson community. These programs include SafeRide, the Women’s Resource Center, and Pride Alliance to name a few. Therefore, your inclusion in the betterment of current programs and the creation of new ones will be essential in ensuring that the programs we offer are refined, and truly providing you, the students, with what you want!

Opportunity

In a time that lacks such with current budget cuts, it is necessary that organizations like ASUA continue to provide students with the opportunities to get involved, but also to find unique ways for students to obtain credits for their degree, and to engage in community service to the University of Arizona campus and Tucson Community. As your AVP, I can promise to provide these opportunities to the student body.

Openness

There is a reason we’re called a student government. Without the student’s voice, needs and concerns, we would have no reason to exist. As student leaders we often times sit on various committees that allow us to have access to important information regarding the future of our University, that every student should know. My goal is to keep a constant flow of communication between the students and ASUA, truly making our organization representative of the students and keeping it true to its name: student government.

Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my brief overview of my ideas for next year. Feel free to contact me at gez434@email.arizona.edu with any questions, comments, or most importantly suggestions of what you’d like to see out of Programs and Services for next year!
