Jordan Searles

Your student government should have emphasis on serving you.  My name is Jordan Searles and I am running to be your ASUA Student Body Senator.  I am currently a sophomore majoring in Pre-Business and working toward a Political Science minor.  Upon graduation, I plan on attending law school to have a future in corporate law. I enjoy playing all kinds of sports, traveling, watching movies and hanging out with friends and family.  I am a proud member of Greek Life and have served as Scholarship Chair and Recorder within my own organization.  Currently, I am serving as the Vice-President of Membership on the Interfraternity Council, where I have the distinct pleasure and honor of facilitating Arizona men’s fraternity rush.  I am also a new member of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity. I try to stay very active among the community and have partaken in many special events including work at the Ronald McDonald House, Jim Click's Run 'N' Roll, and The Race for the Cure.

I have many great ideas that I wish to bring to ASUA.  My ideas are feasible and have the potential to make a difference on you as a student.  If elected to ASUA Senate I plan on working to revamp class availability and better the registration process on WebReg.  I plan to devote my efforts to make sure you have any easier time getting into the classes you need.  I plan on outreaching to augment the communication between students and ASUA.  The resources offered by ASUA are such beneficial tools to students, however, many students do not know of their availability. I would like to see ASUA get better involved with the new freshmen so that the perspective of ASUA can change. I also plan on working to establish healthier food choices on campus and increased availability of these options.  Don't get me wrong there are great places to dine on campus. Some of these places are good healthy choices and others are not. However, after hours and on weekends these choices diminish for you. If elected, I would fight to make sure healthy options are always available.

I’m really excited about being a candidate in this year’s Senate election.  I know I will work hard and strive to make what you want happen if elected to Senate.  I really appreciate your vote for me as your ASUA Student Body Senator.
