Nicholas Jones

My name is Nick Jones and I chose to run for ASUA Senate because I want to transform the system in a meaningful, constructive way.

I hold elected positions in the Posada San Pedro Hall Council (President) and the Honors Student Council (Public Relations) as well as several other UA programs. I currently teach a poetry class at the Pima county jail. I hope to bring my successful experiences in these positions to the ASUA Senate.

Specifically, I am in favor of expanding the useful services that ASUA offers, but I want to do so without adding new student fees.

As a student paying for my education with no help from scholarships, I understand the financial burden many students face. Therefore, I pledge to the students of the University of Arizona that I will oppose and vote against any and all efforts to increase student fees for the duration of my term in office.

I have several main objectives I want to accomplish as a Senator:

- Expand SafeRide or create an auxiliary program to offer students a safe alternative to drunk driving

- Increase legal aid available to students

- Create active sustainability efforts on campus

I will provide support to other senators and the student body as a whole on initiatives that are beneficial to our institution.

Please support me this coming election season by casting your ballot for NICK JONES.
