Sarah Bratt

My name is Sarah Bratt and I am a freshman, pre-communication major. I am very excited for the upcoming election season. I am a great candidate for Senate because I have experience with ASUA and I am here to give all I can to the U of A students.

In my time here I have been involved in many things. I was elected Hall Council President last semester in my residence hall, Manzanita Mohave. It has given me a great opportunity to expand my leadership skills. I also was involved in UAVotes2008 where I helped register almost 5,000 people from the U of A! This semester I am an intern for the Arizona Students Association. With this, I am looking forward to lobbying for student rights and advocacy for an affordable and accessible way to pay for college. I have helped organize and mobilize hundreds of students to rally against budget cuts in two protests. I have also been a part of many leadership organizations, camps, and conferences such as: Bear Down Camp, Hall Leadership Camp, Southwest Student Leadership Conference and I attended New Start over the summer.

As far as my platform, I am very excited to try and implement my ideas to improve our amazing school. My platform consists of three parts: sustainability, diversity and unity, and the aftermath of the budget cuts. I have many ideas on how we can better motivate the public to take an active role in keeping our campus clean and as green as possible. Diversity and Unity are also a big and important part of our University. We have so many different people from different backgrounds, I would love to see a better integration of organizations and people here. The budget cuts have caused a major strain on the faculty, staff and students. I hope that with my goals we can better manage and control our spending so the students will not have to pay any more than they need to. Through my platform I hope to advance the student government in a way that is both effective and plausible.

Thank you for you nominating petitions and I hope to see the same amount of support on Election Day. If there are any questions regarding my platform or campaign, please feel free to email me at Bratt@email.arizona.edu.
